Meet Jana Bernard
Jana Bernard is a SAG-AFTRA actor, writer, singer, voice over artist, and comedian, based in NYC. A quick-witted, quirky, and authentic actor, Jana can be seen on the stage and screen playing sassy spitfires, witty and well-educated professionals, and the bubbly girl-next-door.
Jana has been featured in sketches on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live”, on the Peacock series “Girls 5Eva” alongside Emmy Award Winning Sara Bareilles and Busy Phillips, and in the NETFLIX film “The Half of It”.
Jana Bernard is an award-winning actress who has played Lauren in “Kinky Boots”, Elle Woods in “Legally Blonde”, Val in “A Chorus Line”, Blanche Barrow in “Bonnie & Clyde”, Mrs Catlett in “Amazing Grace”, Squeaky Fromme in “Assassins”; and in the ensemble of the “Broadway Tribute to James Nederlander” at The Minskoff Theater. Her roles as a voice over artist include commercials; an animated short film; and an animated feature film.
As a stand-up comedian, Jana Bernard has opened for an SNL-alum at The Stress Factory and performed in NYC at Broadway Comedy Club, Stand Up NY, The Grizzly Pear, and Greenwich village comedy club. As a female, Jewish comedian, Jana’s comedy tackles gender issues with a Marvelous Mrs. Maisel-esque chutzpah. Her biggest influences are Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Ali Wong, and Kristen Wiig.
Jana Bernard also writes, produces, and directs comedy sketches which can be viewed on her YouTube channel. Her most recent production is “Unhinged”, a dating app parody . She has trained in improv and sketch comedy in The Second City Conservatory Program and with the Upright Citizens Brigade, and at The PIT.
